To bind this partnership, we had a fun twist! Most would do a handshake with some paperwork, but The Cupping Box and OTF decided to have the owner of The Cupping Box participate in OTF's biggest challenge - The Dri Tri - Orangetheory's take on a " Dry Triathlon ".

The Cupping Box owner, Dr. Justin Shin, decided to jump right into the Dri Tri challenge without ever having tried OTF workout before!

This intense challenge included a :

2000 meter row
40 bench hop overs, 80 step ups, 40 bench tap squats, 40 pushups, 40 plank jacks, 20 burpees
5k run (3.1 miles)

Dr. Shin survived this event, completing it in 49 min and 13 seconds .

The GM of OTF, JR, also tried his very first cupping session with The Cupping Box and absolutely loved it!

September 21, 2024: GRAND OPENING with Mayor Lisa Diaz Nash!

We are beyond excited to share the incredible success of The Cupping Box's Grand Opening event!
Thanks to the generosity of Mackenzie, the executive director of the Downtown San Mateo Association , we had the honor of welcome Mayor Lisa Diaz Nash to officiate our ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Mayor Lisa's presence and support was truly the highlight of the day, and we feel grateful for the encouragement she brings to small businesses like ours in the heart of San Mateo.

The Grand Opening was a vibrant affair filled with close friends, family, and local supporters. We were also joined by four amazing vendors who added a special touch to the event: Isotonix, Jus Makes Scents, Squeeze Massage, and Optimum Gym . These vendors, who are all close friends of the Cupping Box team, brought an extra layer of energy and camaraderie to the day!

To thank everyone for coming, we offered free cupping sessions, delicious food, and beverages, giving attendees a chance to experience firsthand the services we offer. The turnout was incredible, and it was deeply moving to see so many faces that mean so much to us come together to celebrate this milestone.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Lisa is a moment we'll never forget. Her presence perfectly reflect the tight-knit and supportive culture of San Mateo, where local businesses and the community come together to lift each other up. It's that spirit that makes downtown San Mateo such a special place, and we are honored to be a part of this community.

September 19, 2024: Equinox San Mateo

I'm thrilled to share that The Cupping Box was invited to promote the new business at Equinox San Mateo's 2024 Autumnal Equinox Celebration !
This opportunity allowed us to connect with the incredible admin staff and passionate coaches who showed a great interest in cupping therapy.
Throughout the day, I had the pleasure of providing demos for both the Equinox San Mateo's team and gym members. It was an amazing experience introducing cupping therapy to a new audience and helping people find relief from sore muscles from their recent workout, tight traps, and/or joint pains.
Many were able to feel the benefits firsthand through the immediate relief they experienced after their cupping session demo.

This was the first time The Cupping Box has been showcased at an Equinox, and there would be no other Equinox we would want to showcase at except for the one in our very own Downtown San Mateo neighborhood just 3 blocks away from our location!
The Cupping Box is beyond grateful for the warm reception and enthusiasm.
We look forward to building more connections within the fitness community and share the benefits of cupping therapy with even more people!

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity early in our business development to collaborate with Simply Bball for their highly anticipated annual Battle of NorCal basketball tournament.
This event brought together the top high school basketball talent from Northern California, with teams representing their regions in an intense competition for bragging rights as being the region with the best hoopers.

The Cupping Box's local team - Team The Bay - emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork. As a sponsor, The Cupping Box was proud to have our logo featured on each of the team's uniforms, marking a significant milestone even before officially launching as a business.
